The summer transfer window has barely closed and Chelsea are already interested in three new attackers ahead of the January window.
According to GiveMeSport, There are three names on Pochettino’s list of attackers: Ivan Toney (Brentford), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) and Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig). Both Englishmen are well known to Premier League fans, but Sesko, a Slovenian international who left Salzburg for Leipzig last summer after scoring 29 goals in 79 appearances for the Austrian club, is another young talent highly coveted by the Blues .
The reasons why these attackers were not signed by Chelsea over the summer are quite clear: Toney is banned from playing until January due to gambling offenses, while Sesko has only just joined Salzburg. Furthermore, the west London club must also take FFP rules into account. Despite this, the club had an extremely busy summer, signing 12 new players as part of an absolutely staggering £440million budget.
There are still a few months to go before Chelsea can sign their dream striker, and Pochettino will be hoping that in the meantime, new signing Nicolas Jackson – signed from Villareal for €35m – can do the trick. The club’s next Premier League match is a trip to Bournemouth on Sunday September 17, after the international break.
