Former England defender John Terry could be the next big name to land in Saudi Arabia.
Steven Gerrard could soon no longer be the only English manager to officiate in the Saudi Pro League. The current El-Etiffaq coach is likely to be joined by his ex-selection teammate, John Terry.
Terry in Gerrard’s footsteps
The former Chelsea legend is in advanced talks to join the club from Al-Shabab. The proposed deal includes a two-year lease and Terry is close to accepting.
The talks have been going on for more than a month and it is said that only minor details remain to be worked out. The Riyadh club is in a hurry to hire a new coach because the one in place, in the person of Marcel Keizer, does not really meet expectations. The team is penultimate in the championship standings after five contested days.
Terry has worked within the Chelsea academy over the past year. Previously, he also worked as an assistant manager at Aston Villa and Leicester.
