Erling Haaland, the brilliant Manchester City striker, admits he is not a complete footballer and cites what he envies in Messi.

Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi are competing this year for the prestigious Ballon d’Or. Unless there is a huge surprise, this prize should not escape one of these two players.

Haaland wants to dribble like Messi

Both have their sights set on the trophy. “I believe in myself and I believe I have a little chance,” confided the Norwegian Cyborg in an interview with France Football, but that does not prevent him from having a lot of esteem for his rival. He even confides that there is a quality that he would like to steal from La Pulga. “His dribbling is not a bad choice,” he confided.

Haaland is often opposed to Mbappé in the media. The City star is not bothered by this parallel, but she recalls that Messi and CR7 also always remain efficient. “It must be emphasized how Messi and Ronaldo did crazy things. We also have to remember that they still do it, because even though they are obviously getting older, they are still fantastic players. I feel privileged to have been able to observe two champions as extraordinary as them.”

Is he inspired by this duo to be even better? His answer : “ I only focus on myself, I only seek to be better every day, continue to enjoy what I do and be the best version of myself.”

While focused on his own progress, the Norwegian does not deny observing other attackers like Kylian Mbappé and Victor Osimhen. “Yes, obviously, because I watch a lot of football on TV. I’m passionate about football, it’s what I’ve always loved and you could say that it takes up all my time, whether professionally or in my life.
