Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs has given his opinion on the conflict between Erik Ten Hag and Jadon Sancho.
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has offered some advice to winger Jadon Sancho, who is currently on bad terms with team manager Erik Ten Hag.
“Ten Hag wants to sting Jadon Sancho”
Sancho publicly criticized manager Erik ten Hag, who said the 23-year-old was not included in the squad against Arsenal in the Premier League due to poor performances in training.
Giggs, who played his entire career with the Red Devils, advised the English striker to put a little water in his wine and take refuge in work. “It seems Ten Hag has tried everything with Sancho”, told the Welshman to the Webby & O’Neill podcast. In his mind it was “I’ve tried everything, let’s provoke him publicly and see how he reacts.”
The former Wales manager is certain that Sancho has the talent to bounce back: “When he came to the club I was a fan. I thought he could improve, he could progress, which he hasn’t really done since he’s been at the club. For me, he always made the right choices in the final third, which is rare for a young winger.”
“He has tried him in different positions and, for me, publicly criticizing him is the last method of trying to get the best out of Sancho, continued Giggs. The player can react and say to himself ‘Okay, I’ll show him, I’ll show the manager what I can do’ or he can sulk and he probably won’t achieve anything. So it’s up to Sancho to play now.”
