Henry is already in trouble

For Thierry Henry’s very first as coach, the France Espoirs team beat Denmark in a friendly match (4-1). A double from Elie Wahi after coming into play could turn the cards down in the offensive sector.

If he promoted PSG midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery to captain, at only 17 years old, Thierry Henry did not go crazy in his starting lineup for his very first meeting at the head of the France Espoirs team, Thursday evening in Nancy, during the reception of Denmark in a friendly match (4-1).

The 98 world champion has lined up, in the offensive sector, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Bradley Barcola and Rayan Cherki, three players already associated in recent months (in the company of an Amine Gouiri who is no longer old enough to play for Les Espoirs and who also chose the Algerian selection).

After an opener by Johann Lepenant, with a nice long shot (24th), Cherki showed off his technical vista to double the lead (38th). Barcola and Kalimuendo failed to convert their opportunities.

It was Elie Wahi, who came into play at the peak, who made the show in the second half by scoring twice (75th and 90th). The new RC Lens striker is already earning points as Les Bleuets start their qualifier for the next Euro U21 against Slovenia on Monday evening away.
