It was a first expected and we can say that it is a success. This Thursday evening, the France Espoirs Thierry Henry version team tamed Denmark at the Stade Marcel-Picot in Nancy with the score of 4 goals to 1. Les Bleuets are starting their new cycle ideally under the leadership of Thierry Henry.

We were impatiently awaiting the debut of Thierry Henry on the bench of the France Espoirs team. His choices were highly anticipated as well. The French legend lined up his men in a hybrid diamond 4-4-2. Rayan Cherki positioned in a playmaker role behind the doublet Arnaud Kalimuendo – Bradley Barcola.

But the strong choice of the former top scorer in the history of the Blues is made in midfield with the tenure of Parisian Warren Zaire-Emery. A first selection for the PSG player who was at the same time promoted to captain of the Bleuets.

Shy and slightly dominated at the start of the match, Warren Zaire-Emery’s partners broke free and let go over the minutes of the match. Established as a left midfielder, Johann Lepenant put his partners on the right track by finding the net with a nice curled shot from outside the box with his right foot (1-0, 22nd).

A few minutes later, it was Rayan Cherki who capsized the French public. The Lyonnais made a sublime sequence before propelling a shot with the right foot into the small net of the Danish goalkeeper (2-0, 38th).

In the second period, the Bleuets continued their momentum from the first act by controlling the game as a whole.

Entering the game in the second period, Elye Wahi also participated in the celebration by scoring twice at the end of the match. For his first goal, the Lensois center-forward took advantage of a failed raise from the Danish defenders to find himself in the area and finish on a half-volley with the right foot which passed under the bar of Jungdal. The second is registered on a counter flash, before concluding with the flat of the right foot.

The only black point of the evening for Thierry Henry and Les Bleuets is this goal conceded at the end of the match. An achievement by Christian Rasmussen who benefited from the defensive largesse of the French. (3-1, 84th).

This victory allows the Blueberries to have benchmarks but above all to gain confidence before the first qualifying match for Euro 2025 this Monday against Slovenia.
