American popstar Taylor Swift could help Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham win the Golden Boy 2023 title, thanks to a social media campaign.
Bellingham are currently competing with Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde for the coveted prize. He was behind in the vote count until Tuesday, when Taylor Swift fans launched a social media campaign against Balde.
An old tweet from the Barcelona star has been made viral by Taylor Swift (Swifties) fans: Do I like Taylor Swift? No, I don’t like his music. The Swifties, unhappy with Balde’s statement, decided to vote in numbers for Bellingham for the 2023 Golden Boy. At midnight on Wednesday, the number of votes in favor of the England midfielder would have increased from 30% to 89%, according to grandstand.

Bellingham is enjoying a dream start at Real Madrid, having already scored five times in four La Liga appearances. FC Barcelona left-back Balde has played in three league games but has yet to score or provide an assist for Xavi’s side.
The next time Bellingham will be seen in action for the England national team is on September 9 in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine.
