The transfer window and the first games of the season set the trend. Luis Enrique began to rely on a group of elements already well identified with Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Skriniar, Hernandez, Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Ugarte, Dembélé, Asensio and Mbappé. Ramos also had his chance, like Fabian Ruiz or Danilo Pereira. All these players will have to make the final list to participate in the Champions League this season.

But there are only 25 places and the number is still too large to register everyone. There are choices to be made which Luis Enrique has obviously taken care of. According to information from RMC Sports unveiled this Wednesday, there are two main victims. PSG has filed a list with UEFA in which Hugo Ekitike and especially Marco Verratti do not appear. Both players have long been asked to jump ship during the transfer window.

But it is clear that they are still present. This is a half-surprise all the same. The Italian has long understood that the club he joined in the summer of 2012 no longer wanted him. His transfer to Al-Arabi is still hoped for, while PSG has agreed with its Qatari counterpart on compensation of around €50 million. For Ekitike, a start at Eintracht Frankfurt was in the works until the end of the transfer window, but it never ended.

He is now very far in the hierarchy of attackers and risks having a very long season. He was not even called up for the meeting in Lyon. Quite the opposite of Keylor Navas, who sat on the bench. Also announced on the departure, the goalkeeper did not really have a way out and remained at the club. According to RMC Sportshe is part of this list of 25 players available to play in the C1, just like Presnel Kimpembe, still injured for a while.
