Despite the end of the summer transfer window on September 1, some clubs are still looking for a great opportunity on the market by scrutinizing players who are free of any contract. Among these clubs, we find the Racing Club de Lens.

In great difficulty at the start of the season with 3 defeats in 4 Ligue 1 matches and one point on the clock, the Sang et Or still want to strengthen themselves in order to very quickly raise the bar in Ligue 1 and this before the major European deadlines which will arrive very quickly.

This Monday evening, RC Lens officially secured the services of Senegalese midfielder Nampalys Mendy. The 31-year-old has been free of any contract since leaving Leicester at the end of the 2022-23 financial year.

The former OGC Nice player signs a two-year contract with Franck Haise’s team. This arrival reinforces the Lensois midfield which has been struggling since the recovery and which has a little trouble digesting the departure of Seko Fofana to Saudi Arabia. The African champion with Senegal will wear number 26 with the RCL.
