If the summer transfer window ended last Friday, FC Barcelona still has a few issues to manage at the start of the season, and not least with the extension of the contract of its coach, Xavi Hernandez. And the latter could quickly take shape. Indeed, Joan Laporta, the president of the Catalan club, and the Iberian technician, still under contract with the Blaugranas until the end of the current financial year, that is to say until June 2024, have agreed on a renewal of the lease for two additional seasons, i.e. until June 2026, as revealed by our Spanish colleagues from brand.

Negotiations regarding Xavi’s extension began several months ago. Even if the different parties were made to get along, the discussions continued over time. Nevertheless, the last details have been validated by the various stakeholders in this file and the formalization should therefore take place quickly, specifies in this sense the media based in Madrid. As a reminder, the Barcelona coach led 94 games while on the FC Barcelona bench with a record of 59 wins, 16 draws and 19 losses for 178 goals scored against 93 conceded in official competitions.
