Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has said he will only consider selling Victor Osimhen next summer if he is offered for at least €500m.

Osimhen spent much of the summer of 2023 in the small papers of Manchester United, PSG and Chelsea, while the media SoccerTransfers revealed that Arsenal would like to agree a deal for the 24-year-old in 2024.

The Nigerian international, who scored 26 times in 32 Serie A appearances last season, is also being courted by the Saudi Pro League. He would even have been the subject of an offer of 200 million euros from Al-Hilal.

De Laurentiis’ response after receiving this offer was detailed by The Team.

The French newspaper reports that he wrote an email to the intermediaries of the Saudi Pro League club, which reads:

“Your offer would only buy one foot from Victor Osimhen. For next year, I think you will be able to offer 500 million euros and we could consider your offer, but I repeat: ‘Could’”.

Osimhen set to sign a new contract with Napoli

De Laurentiis has been adamant all summer long over Osimhen and it appears he has no plans to change his mind on the Nigerian star in the next 12 months, during which time interest in the attacker will only grow.

The boss of Napoli would indeed have prepared a new contract for the Nigerian star, who would thus become the highest paid player in the history of the club.

This new lease will allow Osimhen to earn 10 million euros per year and to commit to the club until 2026, according to information from Gianluca Di Marzio. The transfer guru has also indicated that there will be a minimum €150m release clause which doesn’t match De Laurentiis’ words.

Osimhen, meanwhile, has reportedly been offered a €40m-a-year contract by Al-Hilal.
