Before the international break, the 4th day of La Liga ended this Sunday with a final meeting. FC Barcelona was indeed moving on the lawn of Osasuna with the objective of temporarily finding the podium in the event of a victory or a draw. After a first split to start the season and two consecutive victories, the Catalans wanted to continue their momentum so as not to let Real Madrid, the solid leader of the Spanish championship, slip away. Arrived during the last hours of the transfer window, Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo started on the bench while Xavi trusted his strong men to start this meeting.

When the referee had just whistled the kick-off, Frenkie De Jong already found the post after a scramble and a clear shot and the ball then returned to Robert Lewandowski, on the lookout in front of the goal, but the Pole did not find not the frame (1e). While the Osasuna team created two great chances through José Arnaiz and Aimar Oroz who found Jules Koundé (23rd) and Marc-André Ter Stegen (32nd) on their way respectively. On the other side, the Polish striker of the Catalans saw his attempt being stopped by Aitor Fernandez while the French defender of the Blaugranas finally found the fault just before half-time with an angry header on a serve from Ilkay Gundogan ( 45th+1, 0-1).

Robert Lewandowski saves Barca

Upon returning from the locker room, the pace of the match fell slightly and Xavi decided to bring Lamine Yamal and Joao Cancelo back on the meadow shortly before the hour mark (59th). A few minutes later, Robert Lewandowski took advantage of a center from the Portuguese side to place a flat foot at the far post but the Osasuna goalkeeper made the parade when the leather had not yet completely crossed the line (71st). At the dawn of the last quarter of an hour of this meeting, Luis Ezequiel Avila got rid of Alejandro Baldé then the Argentinian sent a missile which touched the left post before entering the goal of the Barcelona goalkeeper (76th, 1- 1). Everything had to be redone in this meeting.

While the two teams therefore headed for a draw, the end of the match still held a few surprises. After a contentious chest control in the opposing area, Robert Lewandowski collapsed in contact with Alejandro Catena who even obtained a red card for this fault in the position of last defender (84th). The Pole then took charge of executing the sentence to free his people (86th, 1-2). Despite additional time of more than 10 minutes, the Catalans managed to keep the score and this beautiful victory acquired in pain. On the next day of La Liga, after the international break, FC Barcelona will host Betis Sevilla on behalf of the 5th day of the Spanish championship.
