Ten small meetings, that’s what Paul Pogba played last season with Juventus. Few, too few for one of the historic pillars of the France team, hampered by injuries for several years. During the last World Cup in Qatar, the Blues began their transition in the midfield, having to do without the almost unbeatable duo Pogba – Kanté in the middle. And since then, some nuggets like Aurélien Tchouaméni or Eduardo Camavinga, excellent at the start of the campaign with Real Madrid, have gradually taken an increasingly important place within the France group.

At the microphone of Telefoot, Didier Deschamps was questioned about the Paul Pogba case, absent from the EDF list to face Ireland (7/09) and Germany (12/09). “Paul (Pogba) has a more gradual recovery, it’s already very good that he was able to play a good twenty minutes in the last match with Juventus (1-1, Bologna)“Explains the coach of the Blues. He pursues : “But a return there would be premature due to the requirements. He still needs time.”. Time and minutes above all, the former Mancunian will need it to regain the fullness of his qualities.
