Erling Haaland broke two new records by scoring a hat-trick for Manchester City against Fulham (5-1) on Saturday in the Premier League.

Without Kevin De Bruyne (and with a Pep Guardiola resting after back surgery), Manchester City are struggling a bit at the start of the Premier League season, but that hasn’t stopped the English champions and Europe in title to win 5-1 against Fulham, Saturday in his lair of the Etihad Stadium, with a hat-trick from the inevitable Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian phenomenon is already at 6 goals in the league and is always panicking the counters, he who finished last season with 52 achievements with the Cityzens. Haaland, in 39 appearances, becomes the first player to reach the 40-goal mark so quickly, surpassing such eternal benchmarks as Alan Shearer and Andy Cole. He also becomes the one who has reached 50 goals and assists the fastest in front of this same Cole.

Alvarez on fire

His attacking partner Julian Alvarez helped him a lot. The 2022 world champion opened the scoring on a strike from Haaland (31st), the referees validated a goal from Nathan Aké marred by a blatant offside by Manuel Akanji (45th + 5), then Haaland scored at three times in the second half, following a favorable counter on a ball from Alvarez (58th), on a penalty obtained by Alvarez (70th) and on a cross from Sergio Gomez (95th).

The powerful 23-year-old center-forward is certainly perfectly surrounded and served by his teammates (not to mention that he takes care of the penalties obtained by the most dominating team in the Kingdom). But he demonstrates with almost every goal his remarkable game intelligence, with exemplary movements in depth or on the crosses of his attacking companions.
