Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated his confidence in Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, two experienced players, for this season.
Both players have finally opted to extend their contract for a year at Madrid ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Kroos has indicated his intention to continue playing for Madrid if he feels his level of play remains high, while Modric has been persuaded to turn down a move to Saudi Arabia to stay in Spain.
However, their playing time was reduced in the first four league games of the season, with only one start each, as well as a few appearances as a substitute.
Ancelotti brought on Kroos at half-time in the 2-1 home win over Getafe at the weekend, as Modric was substituted in the 77th minute.
As the campaign picks up pace, with Champions League fixtures on, they are expected to feature more, and Ancelotti has no worries about their inexhaustible abilities amid ground.
“They are still the best, who do you compare them to? For me, they are the best, period. They will continue to be very important, to achieve positive results, but also so that this young team can progress in a fair way.“, he confided to Diario AS.
