OM: Marcelino’s first rant

OM coach Marcelino appeared very upset during the press conference preceding the match against Nantes.

After his surprise elimination on the 3e preliminary round of the Champions League, Marseille rebounded well in Ligue 1. However, despite this promising awakening, Marcelino, his coach, did not really have the morale during the press briefing preceding the duel against Nantes. And for good reason ; he had little taste for the treatment reserved for one of his players.

Marcelino bangs his fist on the table

Iliman Ndiaye, who arrived in Marseille this summer, is currently the subject of heavy criticism from the media. Its lack of efficiency is particularly singled out. In five matches played, all as a starter, he scored no goals and signed only one decisive gesture.

Marcelino does not understand, him, why one persists on an element which has hardly just arrived. “It’s his first experience at a big club, with high expectations, did he begin by recalling. He wants to answer it but it is very difficult. This is the reality, for a young player in full change. I can’t demand that he be at the top right away, that would be unfair”.

Before Ndiaye, Vitinha also had a very complicated pass following his transfer to Braga. But since then he has recovered well and is beginning to be very important within the Olympian team. The Spanish coach dares to believe that Ndiaye will follow the same path: “He needs patience, that of the supporters and the journalists too, and that we allow him to take advantage. When he takes pleasure in the field, we will see the best Ndiaye on the field. »

Marcelino therefore flew to the aid of Ndiaye. A speech that he does not hold for all of his players. During the same press conference, he held diametrically opposed words about Azeddine Ounahi, even going so far as to make him pull up the suspenders.
