Former OM player Eric Di Méco has given his opinion on Marseille president Pablo Longoria.

Eric Di Méco, one of the former glories of OM, continues to follow closely the news of his favorite club. He was obviously disappointed by the premature elimination in C1 (against Panathinaikos). But this does not mean that he throws the stone at Pablo Longoria, the Olympian boss.

Di Meco takes his hat off to Longoria

“Over the last few years, you’ve always been in the top three since Longoria arrived. Last season, they finished third but at some point it was about the title at OM. It is played on a bar in Lens »said the 1993 European champion.

When it is pointed out to him that the Spanish leader keeps changing everything from one season to another, Di Méco replies: “You can’t blame him for recruiting based on the coach when we are the first to criticize when it’s the opposite”.

While defending Longoria’s balance sheet, the former side has some reservations about the rest of the season: “There is the risk of missing out, of not relying on a backbone that has worked. So it’s risky. Yeah, you had a game that put you in danger, but there are guys that could get into Tudor’s system that you don’t know where to play now. Like Unahi”.

Finally, Di Meco pointed out that “Longoria will be judged the day he leaves”. “For the moment, the results are rather positive”he concluded.
