Europa League draw: The worst possible group for OM

Having failed to qualify for the Champions League, OM are concerned this Friday by the Europa League draw.

OM will know their opponents this Friday during the group stage of the Europa League. Even if it is not the most beautiful of European events, the Phocaeans, transferred to pot 2, can expect something heavy.

Liverpool, the team to avoid for OM

The main curiosity of this draw is that Marcelino’s team can very well find their opponent on the occasion of the 3e preliminary round of the C1, in this case the Panathinaikos. The Greeks being in hat 4, the one where Toulouse also appears.

Marseille also hopes to avoid the leaders of hat 1. The most formidable opponent is necessarily Liverpool. With its six European titles, the Mersey club looks like an ogre. But it’s not the only team that OM can fear. The same is true for AS Roma or Ajax Amsterdam.

In hat 3, which appears month-old, it would be good not to fall on Friborg or even on Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton. Avoiding a distant trip, on the side of Sheriff Tiraspol for example, would not be a refusal either.

Regarding the easiest draw, it would see Marseille fall to Rangers, Olympiakos and Sturm Graz.

The least affordable draw for OM:

Liverpool, Freiburg, Panathinaikos.

The most affordable draw for OM

Rangers FC, Olympiacos, Sturm Graz.
