In the visual presentation of the new list of Didier Deschamps, the staff of the France team left the badge reserved for the reigning world champions on the jersey of the Blues.
It’s a small detail that has not gone unnoticed. On the visual presentation of the list of Didier Deschamps for the next two meetings of the Blues, we can see a small golden badge on the chest of Kylian Mbappé, Antoine Griezmann or Eduardo Camavinga. This is the badge that Fifa wears to the reigning world champions… which is of course no longer the case for the Habs.
The Blues no longer wore this badge during their first meetings of the year 2023, such as in Ireland or against Greece in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The last time we could see this little touch of gold on the chest of the players of Didier Deschamps, between the Nike logo and that of the FFF, it was during the final of the 2022 World Cup against Argentina, in Qatar.
Why is this badge still visible on the Blues jersey? Because it is too painful to accept the loss of the world title? The explanation probably lies elsewhere. The staff of the France team does not organize individual photo shoots at each gathering, and it is obviously the shots taken before the 2022 World Cup that were used on this visual. A small brushstroke to erase this annoying detail would probably have been appropriate…
