For UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, Saudi Arabia has no chance of attracting Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland.

Saudi Arabia has decided to make a name for itself through football, a sport in which the country’s authorities have been investing record amounts for several months. And it is therefore with the help of millions that the extremely rich oil state has managed to attract big names to its championship, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar or even the French Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté.

Arrivals that necessarily weaken the main European championships. But not enough to worry the boss of UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, who does not imagine for a moment that Saudi Arabia can enlist talents in full possession of their means, like Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland.

“Mbappé and Haaland do not dream of Saudi Arabia”

“As far as I know, Mbappé and Haaland do not dream of Saudi Arabia, said the Slovenian leader in an interview with the newspaper The Team. The best players at the top of their game, I don’t think they would go to Saudi Arabia. When I am told about the players who have gone there, no one knows where they play. This is mainly of interest to the media, but not really to the European football community. We’ll see, but I don’t believe for a second that this could threaten our competitions. »

As a reminder, Kylian Mbappé was approached by the Saudi formation of Al-Hilal, which would have offered 300 million euros to PSG. An offer accepted by the Parisian leaders, but the kid from Bondy for his part refused the advances of the Neymar club, which was ready to offer him a salary of 700 million euros per season according to some sources.
