The end of a very long soap opera. Back at Chelsea after a loan from Inter Milan last season (14 goals and 7 assists in 37 matches in all competitions), Romelu Lukaku (30) is returning to Serie A. This time, the Belgian international (108 caps, 75 goals) will not defend the colors of the Nerazzurri but those of AS Roma, very active in this summer transfer window.
“AS Roma is pleased to announce the loan of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea until June 30, 2024. (…) In Rome, Lukaku will wear shirt number 90”, specifies in this respect the press release of the club to formalize the news. As we revealed to you recently, the two teams had agreed on a paying loan of 4.8 million euros. For his part, Lukaku will receive €7 million in salary as well as various bonuses.
Lukaku returns to Serie A!
A time announced on the side of Inter Milan or even Tottenham, in search of an attacker after the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, the former scorer of Manchester United, also in the small papers of Paris Saint- Germain, will therefore find a championship that he knows perfectly. A departure which also puts an end to the uncertain situation experienced by the player and the management of the Blues in recent weeks.
For its part, AS Roma of José Mourinho continues, for its part, its ambitious transfer window. After having enlisted Leandro Paredes, Renato Sanches, Evan Ndicka, Rasmus Kristensen, Houssem Aouar or even Sardar Azmoun, the Giallorossi therefore offer themselves a new reinforcement of choice for their attack. As a reminder, during his three seasons in Serie A, Romelu Lukaku scored 57 goals and delivered 18 offerings in 97 matches.
