A few hours before the end of the transfer market, Borussia Dortmund is about to strike a final big blow. Jostled for their first Bundesliga edition 2023-2024 against Cologne (1-0), the Marsupials were hooked by VfL Bochum (1-1) last weekend. Despite an attractive offensive armada on paper (Adeyemi, Malen, Haller and other Moukoko), Edin Terzic’s attack lacks an experienced player. Keen to strengthen this sector, the BvB worked behind the scenes to acquire Niclas Füllkrug.
According to SPORT1, his arrival at Borussia Dortmund is about to be completed. According to the German media, the Ruhr-based club has found common ground with Werder Bremen for a transfer of around €15m for the German international (9 caps, 7 goals) as his contract expires in June 2026. The deal has not been finalized yet, but Dortmund should make a good pick. Last season, Niklas Füllkrug finished first in the Bundesliga scoring charts, tied with Christopher Nkunku (16 goals).
