Real Madrid are close to signing Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain, according to rumors in Spain.
Vozpopuli claim that Real Madrid and Florentino Perez have decided to make a late bid for Mbappé, and are currently working out the details of the deal. The media does not specify the amount of the transaction.
However, these sources claim that PSG have agreed to lower their demands for the Frenchman by around €50m. Originally, PSG were asking for 250 million euros for Mbappe but perhaps, faced with the prospect of losing the Bondynois for free next summer, they have scaled back their demands. The striker, who will be at the end of his contract next summer, should receive a salary of at least 50 million euros before taxes.
It should be noted that this information has not been relayed by any of the other major Madrid media so far. Actually, brand And Diario AS both issued reports on Wednesday morning claiming there would be no further recruitments of any shape or size. Vozpopuli claims Karim Benzema’s departure, combined with the relative thinness of the attacking line, made even more difficult by Vinicius Junior’s injury, prompted Perez to make an offer.
Given past summer sagas with Mbappé, Real Madrid and the footballing world will treat these reports with skepticism. If the Oaris player joins Los Blancos before the end of the transfer window, it would change the whole perspective of their season, and arguably their expectations.
