Eager to add a weight reinforcement to their midfield after the injury of Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City finally set their sights on Matheus Nunes following the aborted transfer of Lucas Paqueta. But since the first Skyblues offer refused by Wolverhampton, the file linked to the Portuguese has been at a standstill. According to DailyMirrorWolves have set their price for the 25-year-old at £60m (€70m).

While the reigning English champion was preparing to make an offer likely to meet the financial demands of residents of the Molineux Stadium, the Mancunian club backtracked and did not seem inclined to offer more than £55m (around 63 million). For his part, Matheus Nunes, determined to join Manchester, went to clash with his club. After refusing to train, the Portuguese was not in the squad for Wolves’ big win against Blackpool (5-0) in the EFL Cup.
