Manchester City star Erling Haaland has given a hilarious answer when asked about a possible boxing match against rival Kylian Mbappé.
Both men were tipped to compete for the Ballon d’Or after outstanding individual seasons in 2022-23, and were considered the greatest talents of their generation. But what if they faced each other in a boxing ring?
This question was posed to the Norwegian during an appearance on the ‘Impaulsive’ podcast of Logan Paul, sensation of Youtube and WWE, and the City star laughed it off, insisting he’d rather talk than use his fists.
Mike Majlak, Paul’s co-host, asked Haaland: “Could you see yourself getting in the ring and facing (Kylian) Mbappé or someone else in particular?
Haaland tried to play it safe and responded with a laugh: ” No… I’m not, I’m not really into the fight uh, to be honest. I prefer to talk, so no, not really, not really”.
Haaland, who was just named the 2022-23 PFA Player of the Year, has rarely fought an opponent on the pitch. In fact, he has never received a red card in his career yet.
Haaland will now look to get back to what he does best: scoring goals. Manchester City will resume competition on Saturday against Fulham in the Premier League.
