This Tuesday was the Professional Footballers’ Association Awards, a ceremony where the most successful Premier League players of last season were rewarded. And unsurprisingly, the title of best player was given to Erling Haaland. Manchester City’s Norwegian striker broke the Premier League single-season goalscoring record with 36 in 35 appearances, which allowed him to become champions with the Sky Blues. Elected by his peers, he beat his teammates John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne but also the Gunners Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka as well as Harry Kane the former Tottenham player.
The title of best young player logically went to Bukayo Saka who burst onto the screen with Arsenal. Finally, as for the eleven type, there are five Manchester City players with Erling Haaland, Rodri, Ruben Dias, John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne. There are also four Arsenal players with Aaron Ramsdale, William Saliba, Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka. Harry Kane (Tottenham) and Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) complete the eleven.
