Ligue 1 will lose a nugget

Georges Mikautadze, the excellent Georgian striker from FC Metz, is about to join Ajax.

Georges Mikautadze and FC Metz, it’s almost over. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Georgian striker will commit in the next few hours with Ajax, for a transfer which should be around 20 million euros.

Mikautadze comes out of an exceptional season in Ligue 2 with FC Metz, with 23 goals and 8 assists in 37 days. In Ligue 1, he was having a very good start to the season, with an assist in Rennes, then a nice goal against Marseille, and another in Clermont.

According to the Dutch press, Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Rennais tried it, while Tottenham were also interested.
