Jérôme Rothen spoke about the conflict between the current president of Olympique Lyonnais, John Textor, and Jean-Michel Aulas.
Since the appointment of John Textor as CEO of Olympique Lyonnais on May 5, 2023, the relationship has been far from rosy between the former boss of Les Gones, Jean-Michel Aulas, and his successor. So much so that the two men continue to exchange pleasantries through the media. A conflict mentioned by Jérôme Rothen on the set of his show on RMC, “ Rothen ignites ”, which highlighted the errors which fall on the American and JMA.
“If it had been six months back, certainly I would have defended Jean-Michel Aulas. But a lot of things happened, Rothen said. Already, we have seen that it was a false good idea for John Textor to leave Jean-Michel Aulas in the club when he bought it. We saw that there was no impact and after a while, he realized that and cut to the quick. Me, I start from the principle that making the young with the old is not possible, ” he judged.
The 2004 European vice-champion with AS Monaco disapproved of the attitude of the former president of OL, who was very critical of the new Rhone management that he tried to league against the supporters of the club. “John Textor wants, with his ideas… Whether we are for or against. He sold us a lot of things that are not currently verified (…). Once again, Jean-Michel Aulas looked for the little beast to get there. It’s not John Textor who’s been tweeting lately,” claimed the columnist.
