Thanks to his two goals scored against Lens on Saturday, on the occasion of the third day, Kylian Mbappé signed an unprecedented performance since 1986.
The turbulent summer experienced by Kylian Mbappé does not seem to have disturbed him beyond measure. After opening his counter just a few minutes after coming into play against Toulouse, the tricolor world champion indeed scored twice for his first start on Saturday, during the shock of the 3rd day against RC Lens. Two goals that allowed PSG to win 3-1 for their first success of the year.
This double helping, Kylian Mbappé also took care of his statistics. In addition to consolidating his status as the most prolific French scorer in 2023 with now 24 goals on the clock – only Erling Haaland does better with 28 achievements -, the former Monegasque also crossed the 150 goal mark in Ligue 1 with PSG, can now boast of 151 league goals with the Red and Blue. No player had reached such a total with the same club since Alain Giresse, who had completed his adventure in Bordeaux in 1986 with 158 goals on the clock.
Thanks to these two goals, Kylian Mbappé is also now involved in 301 goals in the PSG jersey since his arrival in the capital in 2017, with, in detail, 215 goals and 86 assists. Obviously a record figure for the Rouge et Bleu.
