Eden Hazard, the incredible return!

Crystal Palace are preparing a shock operation to save Eden Hazard from retirement, according to English media FootballTransfers.

The Belgian is still free after leaving Real Madrid at the start of the summer and it has been suggested that Hazard could retire due to his ongoing injury problems.

A daring bet

Eagles coach Steve Parish believes the 32-year-old still has something to offer, both commercially and on the pitch. Coach Roy Hodgson would also be very interested in this transfer.

At this stage of his career, it would not be a great return to the Premier League, but rather a last chance. Hazard would be offered a simple one-year contract with a pay-per-view structure. In other words, he would receive a low base salary, but he would have the opportunity to increase his income through appearance and performance bonuses.

It will be up to the player to decide if he still has enough resources to play in the Premier League, but a return to London and joining an ambitious Palace project could be tempting for the Chelsea legend.

As a reminder, Hazard joined Real Madrid in 2019 for the astronomical sum of €115m but left earlier this summer due to persistent form issues, having only made 76 appearances in which he scored seven goals and delivered 12 assists.
