Philippe Coutinho is getting closer and closer to a transfer outside of Europe. The attacking midfielder is no longer popular at Aston Villa and is close to an agreement with Al Duhail in Qatar.
Fabrizio Romano claims the midfielder has reached an agreement on his personal terms with the club, and that Villa are in full negotiations over the transfer fee. Coutinho is currently injured but that shouldn’t disrupt the deal too much.
When Barcelona sold him to Villa, they agreed to a 50% sale clause, which means this latest transfer will net him a major windfall.
For a club that has spent the last few years desperately looking for financial levels and ways to raise funds, this is a huge boost.
Coutinho’s selling price is not yet known, and it won’t be much compared to the 130 million euros FC Barcelona bought him for, but it’s all good to go when you try to pull the maximum of your budget.
