A little too discreet during Atlético’s first two matches, Antoine Griezmann could be replaced in midfield by Diego Simeone during Colchoneros’ next match next Monday against Rayo Vallecano.

It’s already time for upheaval on the side of Atlético de Madrid. After a laborious victory against Granada (3-1) then a disappointing draw against Real Betis (0-0), Diego Simeone is preparing a new game plan for the derby against Rayo Vallecano on Monday evening. Antoine Griezmann, once again the great attacking leader of Colchoneros last season, did not show himself to his advantage in the first two matches. He missed a shot.

“Grizi” could thus move back in midfield. “El Cholo” has indeed replaced his centerpiece in the midfield of his 3-5-2 during the tactical implementation on Friday, as reported brand. In this role, exactly as in the France team since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the 32-year-old left-hander would start from a position of left torchbearer to become the master of his team’s play in the offensive phase.

Starting from lower, Griezmann could then orbit not a single striker but two offensive players. During this training, Angel Correa was associated with Memphis Depay in order to bring speed, especially during counter-attacks. The Argentinian striker could therefore be established at the expense of a catastrophic Alvaro Morata when he came into play against Beticos.

The eleven set up: Oblak – Savic, Witsel, Hermoso – Azpilicueta, Barrios, De Paul, Griezmann, Ferreira Carrasco – Depay, Correa.
