Between Marc-André Ter Stegen (31) and Barça, the love story is not about to end. This Friday, the Catalan club announced the extension of the German goalkeeper’s contract for three more seasons, until June 2028. Added to this, his dizzying release clause of 500 million euros.

According to the Spanish press, the doorman, who arrived in July 2014 at Camp Nou from Borussia Mönchengladbach for 12 million euros, would have made a huge sacrifice in order to continue the adventure with the Culés. Indeed, in exchange for his extension, the man with 379 capes in the Blaugrana jersey would have accepted a reduction in salary. A strong choice from Ter Stegen which should allow the 2023 Spanish champions to get into the nails of financial fair play and thus be able to register his understudy, Iñaki Peña.
