Two days before OL’s trip to Nice, a match counting for the third day of Ligue 1, Laurent Blanc was particularly tense at a press conference.

Olympique Lyonnais is having a particularly complicated start to the season. After a defeat (2-1) in Strasbourg during the first day of Ligue 1, the Rhone club lost miserably (4-1) at home, last Saturday, against Montpellier, on the occasion of the second. Finding himself in a relegation position, the seven-time French champion must imperatively raise his head on Sunday evening, in Nice.

Present at a press conference this Friday, Laurent Blanc was questioned about the OL transfer window, in particular the Barcola case. “I am very combative in relation to recruitment. Some call me whiny but I’m combative. I talk to a lot of coaches who tell me that I’m right to be like that because the transfer window ends on August 31 and then it’s over. The next door, you are not sure to see it. We have determined certain things, the news of the DCNG disturbs us and I understand it. It’s difficult to recruit at OL this year. It’s more difficult than expected. I haven’t changed one iota, I try to make things happen. As long as there is hope, I try to fight, not to change my mind”, explained the former PSG coach.

Relaunched several times on the theme of the transfer market, the 1998 world champion almost lost his cool. “The decision to recruit the team, we saw that in June but we did not know at the time that the DNCG was going to block us. I don’t want to put everything on that but it had a very negative impact on OL recruitment. Textor says the same thing as me and regrets it even more, OL have the means to recruit but the decision of the DNCG prohibits us from recruiting. Now we are talking about Nice please otherwise I am leaving”threatened Laurent Blanc, author of a lunar outing last weekend.
