The transfer of Jérémy Doku from FC Rennes to Manchester City for a historic sum was made official on Thursday.

As expected, Jérémy Doku officially signed up with Manchester City on Thursday. The 21-year-old Belgian winger signed a five-year contract with the Skyblues, until June 2028. His transfer will bring 60 million euros to Stade Rennais, which is making the biggest sale in its history, far ahead of Nayef Aguerd, recruited for 35 million euros by West Ham a year ago.

“Manchester City are the best team in world football”

“It’s a big day for me, both personally and professionally, Doku said. Manchester City are the best team in world football, so joining them is something very special for me and my family. I’m a young player with so much learning and improvement to do. Working with Pep and his staff, and playing alongside these working players, will make me a much better player. I’m convinced. »

As a reminder, Jérémy Dodu was bought for 26 million euros by the SRFC in 2020.
