Marquinhos could lose his armband after a new vote by Parisian players on Tuesday to elect the future captain of the team.
With the arrival of Luis Enrique at Paris Saint-Germain, the situation has changed for Marquinhos. Now no longer an indisputable holder within the Ile-de-France defense, the Brazilian could also lose his captain’s armband which he recovered in 2021 after the departure of Thiago Silva.
If at the end of a first vote carried out by the Parisian players on the sidelines of the trip to Toulouse, on behalf of the 2nd day of Ligue 1, Marquinhos won the election, a new vote was carried out this Tuesday, at the Poissy training center (Yvelines), according to information from RMC Sport.

The reason for this new vote? The form of the first, informal, “was not appreciated by everyone, especially some leaders”, explains the sports media. Therefore, this second vote took place formally and by secret ballot. It now remains to be seen whether under these conditions Marquinhos will be elected again…
Before the trip to Toulouse, Luis Enrique spoke about the captaincy in a pre-match press conference. “For me, it’s very simple: I don’t choose the captains, he said. The players choose.
