In search of a new striker, AS Monaco is still in contact with Arsenal for the arrival of Folarin Balogun.

Author of 20 goals with Stade de Reims last season, Folarin Balogun could well return to Ligue 1. The Arsenal striker, put on the transfer list (and out of Mikel Arteta’s group), is still in the sights of AS Monaco. The Principality club had made an initial offer of 40 million euros, but it had been refused by the Gunners, who set a starting price of 50 million pounds, or 58 million euros.

According to Sky Sports, ASM is still in negotiations with the London club. The Monegasque leaders have not yet formulated a new offer, but are discussing the terms of payment for a possible transfer. And at 50 million euros, Balogun would become the most expensive player in the club’s history, ahead of James Rodriguez, who cost 45 million euros in 2013.

The only concern is that Balogun, a former English hopeful now an American international, is in the sights of Tottenham and Chelsea. The English media specifies that Arsenal will demand more money from their two London rivals. The Spurs are looking for a replacement for Harry Kane, sold for more than 100 million euros, while the Blues want to offer themselves a new center forward after the arrival of Nicolas Jackson.
