Manchester City could face West Ham in the fight to recruit Jeremy Doku, after the Hammers’ initial offer was rejected.

City are keen to sign Doku from Stade Rennes this summer, but they are not the only Premier League club to have this project. According to FootMercatothe Breton club rejected an initial offer from West Ham.

Rennes have reportedly priced €50m for the 21-year-old Belgian winger, who scored seven goals and provided four assists in 35 appearances last season.

City are looking to sign a new winger after selling Riyad Mahrez to Al-Ahli for £30m. Cole Palmer, also 21, started the season well, scoring in the Community Shield and the UEFA Super Cup final.

City have repeatedly agreed with the youngster but have yet to make an offer to his club. Last season’s treble winners are also exploring the possibility of signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz.
