RC Lens formalized this Sunday the signing of Elye Wahi from Montpellier. The 20-year-old French striker becomes the most expensive recruit in the history of the artesian club.
Elye Wahi at RC Lens, it’s done. The promising French striker (20) has officially signed up for five years with the northern club.
This is the most expensive acquisition in the history of RC Lens. The previous record dated back to last year for the signing of Loïs Openda (€16m), the player that Wahi has just replaced.
Wahi thus leaves Montpellier HSC, his training club, after having notably scored 19 goals last season in Ligue 1.
International hopes, Elye Wahi has, as a reminder, played 92 games for his training club since 2021. His record shows 32 goals and 9 assists. Frankfurt, Chelsea and West Ham have coveted the player in recent weeks, but the latter will defend the Blood and Gold colors.
