But despite this reinforcement of weight which is looming on the horizon, the Catalan coach Xavi would like to count on another profile and thus have an additional solution.
Before Joao Cancelo, the Culés had probed Ivan Fresneda. Courted in England (Chelsea) and Portugal (Sporting Lisbon), the young Spanish defender had been the subject of a first offer from Barça, rejected by Real Valladolid. But since then, it’s been radio silence. Therefore, Mundo Deportivo reports that the 18-year-old is hoping for a sign from the reigning Spanish champions early next week. Otherwise, he could fall back on another courtier although he gave his preference to the Catalan club.
