Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has taken aim on social media at his former club, Chelsea, after the transfer of Hakim Ziyech to Galatasaray.
Aubameyang, 34, left the Blues to join Marseille on a free transfer earlier this summer after a disappointing 2022-23 campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Gabon international scored just three goals in 21 appearances for the west London club following his €12million move from Barcelona and left the club after just one season.
He’s already scored twice for Marseille – against Panathinaikos – and lashed out at Chelsea after Ziyech’s departure was confirmed.
The Moroccan was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain in January before the deal fell through, while a move to the Saudi Pro League also fell through after he failed the medical.
Galatasaray paid a €3.5m loan to sign Ziyech for the 2023-24 season, and have a €2.8m option to buy him outright next summer if he does. wish.
Ziyech was unveiled after Galatasaray’s 2-0 win over Trabzonspor and could make his debut for the Turkish Super Lig side against Molde in the Champions League play-offs on Wednesday.
“Free Hakim”
After several failed attempts to leave Chelsea, Ziyech was finally granted a departure from the club, prompting Aubameyang to post on Instagram Stories: All the best my brother. Free Hakim” followed by a series of emojis including a laughing face and a heart.
Galatasaray have had a very active transfer spell so far, with Mauro Icardi, Edin Dzeko, Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Demirbay, Cedric Bakambu and Angelino among the 11 players to join the club this summer.
On the other hand, Nicolo Zaniolo was loaned for a season to Aston Villa.
