Xavi has announced his intention to sign a contract extension at Barcelona in 2023.
The former midfielder has proven to be a revelation since returning to the club in 2021, with a first La Liga title since 2019, secured at the end of the 2022/23 season.
However, despite constant rumors that the club are working on a renewal for Xavi, no formal deal has been reached, as the club struggle to retain him.
Xavi has always hinted that he wants to stay in charge of the Catalan club and bring it back to the glory of his playing days at Camp Nou.
His current deal expires at the end of the 2023/24 season but the 43-year-old has no doubts about his future.
“From zero to ten, my extension is ten out of ten”reports Mundo Deportivo.
This weekend, Xavi’s side will play their first league game at their temporary home at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, but the Catalan boss will not be on the bench against Cádiz, due to a penalty of two games.
