The departure of Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain is becoming even more precise this Saturday with the announcement of a contractual agreement between the Italian and the Saudis of Al-Ahli.

Since being told by PSG that he was no longer in the club’s plans for the coming season, Marco Verratti has been actively considering his situation. Rather inclined to leave a team he has been part of since the summer of 2012, the Italian midfielder was contacted by several Saudi teams. Besides Al-Hilal who would like to associate him in his workforce with Neymar, Al-Ahli is also on the spot. And it was the latter who took a little head start by reaching an agreement with his target.

This was confirmed The Team on Saturday, referring to a “contractual agreement” between the midfielder and the Gulf club. Now it’s time for the next step for Al-Ahli who will get in touch with Paris Saint-Germain officials to try to find common ground regarding the sale of the player. Under contract with Paris until 2026, Marco Verratti will not be sold off by PSG, which has already refused an offer of thirty million euros made by Al-Hilal.

€100m last June

The expectations of President Nasser al-Khelaïfi are also much higher for the “little owl”. Thus, he mentioned an amount of one hundred million euros last June. Luis Campos and PSG will probably agree to lower their claims, but al-Ahli is warned, he will have to put a nice amount on the table to hope to win the bet.
