The waltz of goalkeepers is in full swing in Europe and worries AC Milan. A few days before the resumption of the championship against Bologna, the Lombard club wishes to obtain the renewal of Mike Maignan’s contract as informed by the Gazetta Dello Sportthis Friday.

Arrived in Milan from Lille in the summer of 2021, the tricolor doorman has since become the potential starter with the Lombards and is coming out of a remarkable season with the Italian team. While his contract runs until 2026, the Italian media indicates that the Milanese management plans to register the Frenchman in the long term by offering him a two-year extension, all with a double salary of up to €5 million annually. The reason ? Mike Maignan is very courted in Europe, especially by Chelsea, who have just separated from Kepa, who left for Real Madrid. A contract extension would definitively destroy the English hopes of recruiting him and AC Milan to keep one of his jewels.
