Still looking for a new club, Hugo Lloris will not sign for Lazio. The former captain of the Blues was interested in a departure for Rome (despite the presence of a high quality number 1) and finally refused to sign (for fear of remaining on the bench). Implausible.
It’s the big nonsense concerning Hugo Lloris. At 36, the goalkeeper and captain of the 2018 world champion French team is always looking for a new challenge. Last spring, he agreed with Tottenham on an end of adventure, eleven after his arrival in north London, with an exit voucher in the event of an agreement with another club. But Lloris, after being announced in Saudi Arabia, PSG or Real Madrid, has still not found his happiness.
The latest episode is completely improbable. The now retired Blues was offered to Lazio, RMC claiming (August 11) that the experienced goalkeeper was interested in signing with the Biancocelesti, vice-champions of Serie A and qualified in the Champions League. His arrival in Maurizio Sarri’s team seemed illogical, however, since Lazio was able to count last season on an Ivan Provedel voted best goalkeeper in the championship.
Finally, as indicated The Team Saturday, when the two clubs agreed on a transfer, Lloris refused to join Lazio, having no guarantee of being able to compete with Provedel in order to play matches during the season. He should have known before… Now, he does not rule out honoring his last year of contract, while Tottenham has already turned the page by recruiting Guglielmo Vicario (26), against 20 million euros. It goes wrong.
