After months of speculation, Gabri Veiga’s future finally seems settled.

The 21-year-old, who broke through in La Liga last season, will soon become a Napoli player, after the Serie A champions agreed a deal with Celta Vigo.

Veiga had attracted interest from several clubs over the past few months, notably in the Premier League. However, Napoli have recently emerged as big favourites, and they now have their man.

Celta have been pushing hard to secure Veiga’s release clause, set at €40m, but, as reported brand, the Galician club agreed on an amount lower than this sum. Napoli will pay 30 million euros in advance and 6 million euros in supplements.

This is still a great deal for Celta Vigo and, as coach Rafa Benitez has pointed out, will allow them to make further purchases in the remaining weeks of the transfer window. The Celestes indeed intend to improve on their disappointing results from last season.
