After Bayern Munich’s attacking festival on the lawn of Werder Bremen and while waiting for the poster between Borussia Dortmund and Cologne, the traditional Bundesliga multiplex made its big comeback, this Saturday at 3:30 p.m., with five matches counting for the first day. Solid winners of the German Super Cup against the Bavarians, RB Leipzig moved to the BayArena to challenge Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen. Quickly led by Bayer thanks to two goals signed Frimpong (1-0, 23rd) and Tah (2-0, 34th), Marco Rose’s men reacted just before the break thanks to the inevitable Olmo (2-1, 38th ). Returning from the locker room, Leverkusen was still just as dangerous but Wirtz stumbled on an imperial Blaswich (48th). A few moments later, it was Boniface who got himself a new chance but his shot flew quite widely above (56th). Dominating, the locals finally widened the gap thanks to Wirtz (3-1, 64th).

Back to the wall, the RBL did not admit defeat and reduced the mark at the start of the last quarter of an hour. On a clever handover from Simakan, the new Openda recruit found the fault (3-2, 71st). If the former Lensois found, in stride, the post of Lukas Hradecky (73rd), Leipzig did not manage to catch up and missed their entry into the running. Thanks to this great victory (3-2), Leverkusen returns to Bayern at the top of the championship. In the other afternoon matches, Borussia M’Gladbach snatched a draw against Augsburg after a spectacular and goal-rich encounter (4-4). For its part, VfB Stuttgart, carried by Zagadou and the doubles of Guirassy and Wamangituka, left no chance to Bochum (5-0). Under the eyes of his audience, Hoffenheim fell (1-2) against Fribourg. Finally, the promoted Heidenheim, traveling to the Volkswagen Arena, could not do anything against Wolfsburg (0-2). In the standings, Bayern Munich is already taking control, just ahead of Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Leverkusen, Freiburg and Augsburg.
