FC Barcelona would consider offering an extension offer to Frenkie De Jong while reducing his salary.

The FC Barcelona transfer window has been rather quiet so far. The Catalan club managed to lure Ilkay Gündogan and Inigo Martinez free and offer Oriol Romeu, but did not splurge, although Joao Cancelo could land in the coming days.

An extension for De Jong?

The Blaugranas have also recorded several departures, including that of Ousmane Dembélé, but do not intend to let their executives slip away. This is the case for Frenkie De Jong, often associated with departure rumors but in whom Xavi places great trust – he named him vice-captain with Marc André Ter Stegen.

The Dutch international, under contract until 2026, could even be offered a contract extension. According to information from Sportthe club’s management would like to offer him a similar offer to that of Ter Stegen, who gave up part of his salary in order to relieve Barca’s finances.
