Considered one of the up-and-coming talents when he arrived at Real Madrid in 2019, Takefusa Kubo has struggled to make his mark in Madrid’s strong squad. But after a succession of more or less conclusive loans, the Japanese striker now seems to be flourishing in the Basque Country. Indeed, the 22-year-old is coming off a very encouraging season with Real Sociedad (8 La Liga goals) and started the 2023-2024 financial year on the right foot by opening the scoring against Girona (1-1), the Last weekend.
Enough to arouse the curiosity of Real Madrid? According to information from Sport, the Merengues are closely monitoring the evolution of Takefusa Kubo and would consider repatriating him if he continues on the same dynamic next summer for the position of number 9. However, Real Madrid did not want to keep 50% during of his transfer in July 2022 and will therefore have to rely on the financial demands of the Basque club to bring him back. For his part, the Blue Samurai striker recently indicated his wish to continue in San Sebastian while sweeping away the rumors of a possible return to the White House.
