PSG: the captaincy of Marquinhos is threatened

It’s far from being a scoop: the Brazilian central defender Marquinhos hasn’t really been unanimous at Paris Saint-Germain for some time. And for good reason, his lack of leadership, he who has worn the armband since the departure of Thiago Silva in the summer of 2020, questions not only the supporters but also the Parisian sports management. With the arrival of Luis Enrique as new coach this summer, the cards are necessarily reshuffled and his status as captain would be called into question.

Indeed, according to the latest information from the Parisian, an internal reflection would have been initiated within the club of the capital, an idea that the Spanish coach even “accompanied” as indicated by the regional daily. The objective would be to create a new cycle in order to succeed in lifting the Holy Grail – the Champions League – and this could therefore have an impact on the influence of the international Auriverde (78 selections, 6 goals). The three-color publication even speaks of a possible drop in his playing time, particularly linked to the arrivals of Milan Skriniar and Lucas Hernandez this summer.
